Definitions
- End of Maintenance: The End of Maintenance date is the end date when product updates, bug patches, workarounds or security risks will be issued. This date is calculated from the next product major release date + 12 months.
- End of Support: The End of Support date is the date when e-mail and telephone technical services provided by Black Duck, regarding the use and function of the Licensed Product, end for that product or product version. This date is calculated from the next product major release date + 18 months.
- End of Service: The End of Service date is the date when Black Duck SCA versions will cease to function and will be rejected by the Registration service and the hosted KB. Customers running in air-gap environments are unaffected but will not receive any product support or updates. This date is calculated by adding 30 months to the product release date.

Black Duck Detect end of support and service schedule
- End of Support: The End of Support date is when a new major version is released and the penultimate major version support ends. E.g. Version 12.0.0 releases in October 2026, release 10.x.x will be end of support in November 2026.
- End of Service date: The End of Service date is 6 months from the release date of a new major revision and the penultimate major version service period ends. E.g. Version 12.0.0 releases on October 30, 2026, release 10.x.x will be end of service 6 months after, in April 2027.

Black Duck Alert end of support and service schedule
- End of Support: The End of Support date is 12 months after when a new major version is released and the penultimate major version support ends. E.g. Version 9.0.0 releases in October 2026, release 8.x.x will then be end of support in November 2027.
- End of Service date: The End of Service date is 18 months from the release date of a new major revision and the penultimate major version service period ends. E.g. Version 9.0.0 releases October 30, 2026, release 8.x.x will then be end of service 18 months after, in April 2028.

Black Duck Alert Product transitioned to Maintenance Support
- As of version 8.0.0, Black Duck Alert is in Maintenance Support. We will continue to fix critical bugs and security issues, but no further enhancements are planned.
- We are redesigning the notification system to be configured directly within Black Duck SCA, eliminating the need for a separate product. This will improve scalability for initiatives such as Long Term Support (LTS) projects, simplify administration, and provide more flexible, targeted notification options.
- Black Duck Alert remains supported at this time. An end-of-life date will be announced once its core functionality is available directly within Black Duck SCA.
