Coverity on Polaris CLI Compatibility on MacOS Versions 10.15 and Higher

Coverity on Polaris

Version
latest

It is recommended to install Coverity on Polaris CLI for MacOS using the pkg file. See Installing Command Line Tools on Coverity on Polaris .

If you need to use the zip file for backwards compatibility and attempt to run Coverity on Polaris CLI from the Finder, in some cases you will receive a pop-up warning message stating "Coverity on Polaris cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer". If this happens, follow these instructions.

  1. In the pop-up warning message, click OK to close the message.
  2. Open your Mac System Preferences, and click Security & Privacy.
  3. In Security & Privacy > General > Allow apps downloaded from, a message displays stating "polaris" was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer. Click Open Anyway.
  4. After clicking Open Anyway, a confirmation box displays with the message macOS cannot verify the developer of "polaris”. Are you sure you want to open it? Click Open. The Coverity on Polaris binary runs in a new terminal, which prints a usage message and exits. Close this terminal window if it does not automatically close. You can now run the Coverity on Polaris CLI.
